Carcassone

We decided to take a fairly long drive up into France as we’d booked in to do some glamping in South West France for Matt’s birthday. Another incredibly hot day, with some van issues relating to melting things, handily fixed by Matt at various French services, but still delaying us. We finally reached our next campsite, just outside Carcassone in the French countryside, by early evening. Straight to the pool! A very quiet campsite as it is still out of season here, we had all the facilities pretty much to ourselves, including the water slides which Abi and Matt loved of course.

On our last day we travelled into Carcassone itself, which is an amazing medieval walled town. It was an incredibly hot day, but we managed to get around pretty well and have a lovely French lunch in the main square before staggering home, exhausted.
